Device registration links your loomlock and loomlock keys to your account. This process verifies that you own the device and allows you to configure it for use with your loomlock sessions and key sessions.
What happens when I scan a loomlock key for the first time?
When you scan a loomlock key for the first time, loomlock checks its registration status:
• If it's unregistered, you'll be guided through the registration process
• If it’s already registered to your account, you'll be able to configure or update its settings.
I'm seeing "Device Not Found" - what does this mean?
This error means the loomlock key you scanned isn't recognized in our system.
Try scanning again, or contact our support team (the email can be found at the top of this page) if the issue persists.
What does "This device is registered to another user" mean?
This error indicates that someone else has already registered this loomlock key. Each loomlock key can only be registered to one account.
If you believe this is your device, contact loomlock support (our email can be found at the top of this page) with proof of purchase and we’ll look into it for you.
I got "Wrong tag scanned" - what's happening?
This error occurs when you're trying to register or set up a specific device, but you scanned a different one than the one you initially scanned.
Make sure you're scanning the correct key:
• If you have multiple loomlock keys, double-check which one you're trying to register
• Start the registration process again.
What does "Please scan a valid loomlock tag or card" mean?
Only loomlock devices are compatible with the app. If you believe you're scanning a genuine loomlock device and are still seeing this error, please contact our support team (our email can be found at the top of this page).
Can I delete or unregister a device?
You can’t unregister a device from your account, but you can delete it from your devices list and re-register it to set it up again.
App Locks
Why aren't my apps being blocked?
Common reasons include:
• Screen Time authorization wasn't granted
• The schedule isn't active or the current time is outside the scheduled hours
Double check you have authorized Screen Time by navigating to Settings > App Groups.
How do I remove all locks and restrictions in case of emergencies?
You can clear all active restrictions by navigating to Emergency Mode in Settings, or the sign in screen when signed out or offline.
Can I use loomlock with Screen Time restrictions I've set up elsewhere in other apps?
loomlock manages restrictions independently, but both work through Screen Time. Keep in mind that having multiple restrictions active may lead to unexpected behavior.
